The breakfast was very good. Glad to know they made eggs for breakfast. But the kitchen was very slow at breakfast and dinner the night before.
Located on the right bank of Douro River, in the center of Pinhão village, Casas Botelho Elias offers self-catering holiday homes in a natural setting.

Cute little place with two outside areas. Nice breakfast left for us. Owner was so accommodating. Let us check in early and stored luggage for us.
Located in a wine producing estate, on the right bank of Douro River, Quinta De La Rosa is a family owned property, 1.2 mi from Pinhão. Rooms at this working vineyard are spread over several levels.

Just outside of Sinhao, Quinta de la Rosa sits on a Douro Valley hillside surrounded by vineyards and olive trees, and has a beautiful view of the Douro River below. The restaurant was excellent and we recommend reservations well in advance. Our stay was beyond expectations.
Located in Pinhão, Hostel Douro Backpackers has a garden, shared lounge, terrace, and free WiFi throughout the property. Featuring a shared kitchen, this property also provides guests with a grill.

Pedro and Sara were incredible hostel hosts, going above and beyond to ensure we had an unforgettable experience in Pinao. Their warm hospitality and extensive knowledge of the area allowed us to uncover hidden gems, from breathtaking hikes to mouthwatering local cuisine. Every top highlight of our trip came from their heartfelt recommendations.
Our room was not only comfortable but also beautifully modern, and the entire hostel was impeccably clean, reflecting their dedication to providing a pristine environment. One of the most delightful surprises was the rooftop orchard, brimming with oranges and lemons that guests were welcome to enjoy. We couldn't resist engorging ourselves with citrus in the mornings.
What truly set Backpackers apart was the profound sense of community that Pedro and Sara fostered. The atmosphere was so warm and inviting that it felt more like a reunion with dear friends and family at their private orchard rather than a stay at a public hostel. We left feeling rejuvenated and also deeply connected to the wonderful people we met during our time there.
On average, 3-star hotels in Pinhão cost $120 per night, and 4-star hotels in Pinhão are $136 per night. If you're looking for something really special, a 5-star hotel in Pinhão can be found for $302 per night, on average (based on Booking.com prices).
We drove to Pinhão. The roads are slightly terrifying but the views are spectacular.
We were there in March so not everything was open. Best restaurant was Writers Place! The walking trails through the vineyards were fantastic!

The perfect spot to explore some of the lovely Quintas the Douro Valley has to offer. Would definitely recommend Pinhao as your base. We drove to Pinhao from Porto which was great for sight seeing and super easy. We visited the three Quintas that are within walking distance from Pinhao train station which were lovely. I’d recommend making a reservation in advance for dinners or lunch where possible. But we also did a few walk ins.

Pinhao is stunning. with good selection of restaurants in the evening. Beautiful wineries. As the wineries are built into cliffs the drive to Pinhao and around is not for the faint hearted. The roads are very narrow some without safety barriers. However if you can get past this it is worth it for the scenary. It is a sleepy village but everyone is so friendly. One or two days maximum is enough.

Excellent location on an S bend on the river Douro.
Excellent location on an S bend on the river Douro. Sleepy village atmosphere but with plenty of activities around the railway boat trips and quinta wine tasting. Some good restaurants. Wonderful views if you climb up through the village. Watch out for the dogs though - they are always enclosed but can be extremely aggressive.

The position of this hotel is breath taking and the staff are really helpful. Be careful when booking, some rooms are in the main building but some are away up and down a very, very steep lane. Not for anyone with a disability. We used the restaurant and although the food was lovely, we thought it was a bit pricey. It was good, but not that good.
The location was picture perfect, the property had everything you could want for a short or long stay. The apartment was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Ana stocked the fridge with so many wonderful treats we were delighted! The daily fresh bread made us want to stay forever! 46 is the house number, between two store fronts in a large, yellow housing unit. Directly across from a cute little wine shop. Pinhao is transforming and therefore a little sleepy, it was great to have a place to call home!
Dois Lagares House was easily accessible from the train station in Pinhão and walking distance to the restaurants and tours we chose during our stay. The view from the shared living room was spectacular, looking out over the Douro river. The home is clean, bright and tastefully decorated. Our room was comfortable and spacious, with a walkout to a small patio. The owner, Hugo, and his mother went out of their way to make our stay an enjoyable one. A highlight of our trip to Portugal, for sure.
We had an amazing time staying with Pedro & Sara! They were super friendly and had the best tips on where to go in Pinhão and the Douro valley. This hostel is clearly being run by people who love what they’re doing and who have a clear vision of what creates a good hostel. The roof terrace and other facilities were also amazing! I highly recommend this hostel to anyone traveling to Pinhão. And definitely listen to Pedro’s tips ;)
Location was beautiful, lovely view from our upstairs room, lots of outside space to enjoy wine, very quiet. The staff were extremely helpful and hard working, and despite being down some staff members, really took time to talk and help us out. Large and beautiful property. The drive out from Pinhoa was lovely. Pinhao was extremely busy and bustling, we were happy to be a little away from that in such a peaceful setting.
Our stay at Casas Botelho Elias exceeded our expectations! We traveled around Portugal with multiple stops along the way and this was by far our favorite stay of the whole trip. Pinhao is so beautiful and everyone in town was incredibly nice. The space itself felt very authentic and immediately made us feel at home. We were able to meet the host who was extremely kind and accommodating. Thank you for a fantastic stay!
Pedro and Sara were super and really made this place into a home for travellers!! They also have the best recommendations on what to do in the area from wine tastings to restaurants and hiking routes. In the evening there's also space for everyone on their balcony to meet other travellers and have a drink:) Would recommend this place for anyone who's staying in Pinhao/Douro region.
Nothing. We weren’t able to stay there. The property in no accessible. My partner is handicapped and there was no parking on the property or on the street anywhere near the property. It’s NOT a three Starr property. The owned still hasn’t answered my emails. Very dissatisfied with this booking. We ended up stay at another hotel for the evening.
Lovely people, comfortable and cool rooms with air conditioning, a good shower and free parking. Well equipped kitchen and a generous breakfast was provided as well as complimentary water in the fridge. Located a couple of minutes walk from the picturesque Pinhao railway station and 10 mins from the beautiful quayside area.
The hotel has an incredible view of the river and the rooms are very comfortable with a lovely little balcony. Good parking in a garage available. Staff were friendly except for the waitress at breakfast. Although high up, the walk down (and back up) to main town only took 10 minutes.
Although we were on a Homeboat on water, we did not feel any movement, the boat is well anchored and we had a good night sleep.
The hosts were excellent and the basket in the morning with our breakfast included in the stay
It was a very nice experience in Pinhao on the Douro river
The location was excellent. It’s located by the river with easy access to boat cruises, short walks to amazing quintas and restaurants. The grounds of the hotel was beautifully maintained and a feast to the eyes. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent.
Great location in Pinhao. Breakfast was excellent and our hosts took care to cater for our dietary needs (one coeliac, one non-dairy). They were also very informative about the property and the area. Nice to sit outside on our own terrace with a glass of Douro wine!
Excellent view of Pinhao from the little terrace area which is shared with the adjacent apartment. Large bedroom, plenty of hot water for showers, just about adequate kitchen equipment, helpful owners.
A beautiful location close to Pinhão. The views are great. The hostess is very nice. She greeted us with wine, bread and sardines. And she did laundry for us. The cat and the dog are very friendly.
