Ferrari is synonymous with traditional method sparkling wine in Trentodoc in northern Italy, and is one of those bottles you've likely seen in the store many times due to its wide distribution.

We have been getting more and more into Italian sparkling wine made in Champagne style and decided to pick this one up and enjoyed it for an all-around lovely bottle for flavor and price point!

A Classic Sparkling Wine from Trentodoc

Ferrari Brut NV

This Ferrari Brut NV was medium lemon in color with medium aromas of lemon, yellow apple, toast, cream, wet stone, grapefruit, brioche, vanilla, pineapple, and almond.

On the palate, it was dry with high acidity, medium alcohol and body, creamy mousse, and medium(+) flavor intensity and finish. We had flavors of lemon, lime, nectarine, cream, toast, yogurt, grapefruit, and pineapple.

This one hit all the classic notes of a lovely traditional method sparkling wine with strong acidity, prominent fruit notes, and some present, albeit perhaps not too intense, flavors from lees aging as well!

Ferarri Brut NV Food Pairing – Potato Tarte

Ferrari Brut Food Pairing - Potato Tarte

We paired this Italian sparkling wine with a potato tarte with aged goat cheese, herbs, tomato, and caramelized onions. We thought the acidity and lees notes would go well with the classic flavors of the tarte, and enjoyed that the bottle held up with slightly stronger peach and stone fruit notes all around.

Score: 3.5 / 5

We'd buy a glass of this one and a bottle in the right circumstance.

Overall, Ferarri's Brut NV showcases that delicious traditional method sparkling wine doesn't necessarily have to come from Champagne, and holds up to many other great NV producers. We do, personally, like stronger lees notes that you get in more vintage bottles, but would still easily drink a glass of this one or even a bottle in the right circumstance!

Ferrari is located at Via Ponte di Ravina 15, Trento, Italy. We purchased this bottle on Wine.com and enjoyed it in 2025.
